Area of Scientific Interest: development of technical means for oriented planting of seed-onions, mother onions and sugar beet, and for drying vegetables; development of machines for potato production, pre-sowing seed processing (grinding and dragging); development of innovative technical means for grain harvesting by the method of combing; developments in the field of increasing the efficiency of agricultural machinery.
Contribution: Scientific developments of O. N. Kukharev were confirmed by patents for inventions and brought to engineering development. The designs of the cell-drum and chain-and-blade planting mechanisms are used when creating machines for planting seed-onions and mother onions. Installation of orienting surfaces on the planter VPS-2,8A with orienting tools is introduced into production. Machines for oriented planting of seed-onions and mother onions were tested and introduced in agricultural organizations of Penza region. There was developed and manufactured a set of agricultural machinery such as potato planter, weeder, ridger, potato digger, and potato grader to be uses in small-scale farms. These machines are unitized with a power tiller. A drum seed dragger with rotating bottom and disk grinder of sugar beet seeds are developed, manufactured and put into production. The combing reapers with an experimental rotor equipped with tangential channel combs are used in manufacturing reapers in Russia and abroad.
Additional Information: О. N. Kukharev won a grant of the President of the Russian Federation in 2006, managed three innovative projects, which won grants under the U.M.N.I.K. program. Program (2011, 2012, 2016). He is an expert of the FSBSI Research Institute – Republican Research Scientific-Consulting Center of Expertise (form 2013 to date).
